FAQs
Do I need to see my doctor before I have private physiotherapy?
No, a doctor referral is not necessary before seeing a physio. However, if you have private medical insurance some companies do require a doctors referral, therefore check with your insurance company before making an appointment.
Can I bring someone with me?
You are welcome to bring someone with you to any appointment.
How quickly can I be seen?
We aim to offer same day appointments whenever possible. Across our 4 clinics we are open from early morning to late evening and Saturday mornings at Chandlers Ford. We are very flexible and try and accommodate individual needs.
Memberships
We are members of The CSP and Physiofirst and registered
with the Health Professions Council.
What shall I wear?
Wear something comfortable and appropriate for the area of your injury to be assessed thoroughly e.g. shorts for a knee injury. Your modesty will be respected at all times. If you are being assessed for an injury which uses some equipment, it may be useful to bring this along e.g. running footwear.
How many sessions will I need?
At the initial appointment, the physio will assess your problem and indicate how many sessions you are likely to require. Our statistics show that the average number of physiotherapy sessions patients require are between 3 & 6 sessions. By seeing us at goPhysio you can be rest assured that you will avoid lengthy, ineffective, expensive, courses of treatment.
What happens if I cannot attend my appointment?
We require 24 hour notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment, as without adequate notice that appointment slot cannot be utilised for other patients. Hence, we charge the standard fee for non-attended or cancellations when less than 24hours is given.
