Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the many skills
used within physiotherapy as an integrated approach to the management
of pain, inflammation and as a means of enhancing the body's own healing
chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation. Acupuncture
within physiotherapy is used within the background of clinical and
research evidence.
Research shows that acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce natural pain relieving chemicals (endorphins). Many Physios use acupuncture as part of their treatment programmes.
Our physios are
experienced & highly trained acupuncturists, specialising
in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders with acupuncture. Alongside
other physio techniques, acupuncture is very effective at treating
many conditions including back & neck pain, muscle & sporting
injuries. Your physiotherapist will select the most appropriate treatment
for you based on the thorough assessment of your condition
We specialise in using the “traditional Chinese” method & the “myofsacial” methods
of acupuncture.
All our physiotherapists are members of the Acupuncture Association
of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and are covered by comprehensive
professional liability insurance. Acupuncture is safe when practised
by a member of the AACP because of the strict hygiene guidelines, training
courses and educational updates required to stay on the membership
register.
